Discover Aït Benhaddou
Aït Benhaddou is a historic fortified settlement in southern Morocco, built from earth and timber along the old caravan routes between the Sahara and Marrakesh. Its clustered towers and walls form one of the country’s best-known examples of traditional earthen architecture.
The magnet shows the ksar from across the valley, with reddish-brown walls rising in tiers above palm trees and lower buildings. The settlement appears almost to grow out of the dry landscape because the materials closely match the surrounding earth.
Walking through the narrow passages reveals decorative towers, courtyards and elevated viewpoints, while the surrounding valley places the settlement within the wider desert-edge environment.
This Aït Benhaddou fridge magnet keeps the ochre architecture and desert setting in one frame. Adding your visit year can make the ancient caravan settlement a reminder of your own route through southern Morocco.
