Discover Viewpoint of the Moon
The Viewpoint of the Moon, south of Luanda, is named for its extraordinary eroded landscape of pinnacles, gullies and layered sediment. Wind and rain have carved the soft rock into forms that can appear almost lunar.
The magnet shows a wide section of the formations, with pale vertical columns cut by deep orange and brown bands. The texture becomes the entire subject of the photograph.
Different viewpoints reveal how rapidly the colours and shapes change across the escarpment, especially in strong sun or late afternoon light.
This Viewpoint of the Moon magnet keeps the strange eroded geology at the centre of the memory. Adding your visit year can connect the rugged forms with your own stop along Angola’s coast road.
