Discover Salar de Uyuni
Salar de Uyuni in south-western Bolivia is the world’s largest salt flat, stretching across a vast high-altitude basin on the Altiplano. Its appearance changes dramatically between the dry season and periods when a thin layer of water covers the salt.
This magnet shows the famous wet-season mirror effect. The horizon almost disappears as pale sky and clouds reflect across the shallow water, leaving the landscape with very little sense of depth or scale.
Under the right conditions, walking or driving across the flooded surface can feel like moving through the sky itself. Small changes in wind and water depth alter the reflection, so the most memorable photographs often depend on a few minutes of perfect stillness.
This Salar de Uyuni magnet is built around that rare mirror-like atmosphere. Adding your visit year can preserve the memory of seeing the salt flat transformed into a reflection of the Bolivian sky.
