Discover Salar de Uyuni

Salar de Uyuni in south-western Bolivia is the world’s largest salt flat, stretching across a vast high-altitude basin on the Altiplano. Its appearance changes dramatically between the dry season and periods when a thin layer of water covers the salt.

This magnet shows the famous wet-season mirror effect. The horizon almost disappears as pale sky and clouds reflect across the shallow water, leaving the landscape with very little sense of depth or scale.
